F D Cartier
Françoise and Daniel Cartier explore the essential elements of photography - light and light-sensitive materials - using unconventional approaches: experimental, camera-free, chemical-free. With a minimalist aesthetic, they examine everyday life, intimacy, the passage of time and the role of the artist and the image in contemporary society.
They met at the gymnasium in Bienne. After studying art and photography in Berne and Zurich, they decided to combine their individual works _F painting and sculpture & D photography_ to form a duo in 1998: F&D Cartier.
