Liz Nielsen
Liz Nielsen lives and works in Brooklyn and Newburgh, NY. Her works have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Nielsen's photographs are most often made without a camera and can also be described as light paintings. She works in the analog color darkroom exposing light sensitive paper and processing it through traditional color chemistry. Each photograph is unique and ranging in size from 100" x 100" to 8" x 8".
Liz received her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2004, her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2002, and her BA in Philosophy and Spanish from Seattle University in 1997. Nielsen's works have been reviewed in *Artforum*, *The Wall Street Journal, *The New Yorker*, *The Financial Times*, *The British Journal of Photography*, *The New York Times*, *LensCulture*, *FOAM magazine*, and *ArtSlant* among others.
